Adventure Reflection

10.Resting Up

Hi friends. Life can be such a roller coaster sometimes. It’s crazy how one minute you could be so high and the next you find yourself down in the dumps. I suffer from chronic pain due to an autoimmune disease, and last week was the worst I’ve felt in a while. I had this terrible flare-up in my lower back and hips at the beginning of the week. I felt awful and it was a difficult week. I spent it doing my best not to move too much while alternating between cycles of heating, icing, and stretching in an attempt to bring down the inflammation. I slept over eleven hours four nights in a row. Nothing super exciting happened this week, so how about another book review?

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern is one of my favorite books. It’s a book that I wish I could forget so I could experience reading for the first time all over again. The writing style of the story is untraditional and I think it makes the storytelling that much more exhilarating. As a child, I was in love with reading and fantasy worlds. This book transported me back to those days. You could always find me with my nose buried in a book. Our family vacations always started with a trip to the library to check out a fat stack of books to last the week. The Starless Sea involves a special sort of library and it brought a lot of nostalgia. I don’t want to give too much away, but if you love a fantasy world, have a grand sense of adventure, and are interested in a unique story, I think this might be an interesting read to add to your list.

p.s. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
