I have some exciting news! Melissa proposed to me on our hike Friday! I said yes, and now we’re engaged! She booked a little off-grid converted barn for us for the weekend to celebrate. After our hike, we picked up some sushi and drove straight there. We spent the weekend sleeping in, relaxing, exploring the property of our host (our host had chickens!), and not focusing on anything outside of our little bubble. It was absolutely amazing.

I am so excited about this next adventure with Melissa. The life we have built together is more exciting than I could have even imagined. We haven’t started wedding planning yet, though we have some ideas. Instead, we want to take some time to enjoy being engaged before we dive into the chaos that I understand wedding planning to be. I also think with the pandemic, all the weddings that were supposed to happen in 2020 and 2021 will most likely be happening in the next couple of years. It might be difficult to find getting a venue. But we’ll roll with it as it comes.

As for now, I am a fiancée! I still haven’t gotten used to the word but it feels so right. Melissa is my person and I cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together.
